The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026 held at the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030) has attracted widespread attention. Against a backdrop of intertwined global uncertainties, China – consistently focused on development – is increasingly seen as a safer, more reliable, and more stable source of expectation. The 15th Five-Year Plan further provides clear direction for fulfilling this expectation.

A survey conducted by CGTN among netizens worldwide shows that 94.9% of respondents believe that policy stability and consistency have become prominent advantages of China's high-quality development.

By promoting high-quality development to enhance economic efficiency and advancing high-level opening up to the world, China is unlocking development opportunities based on mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. China's 15th Five-Year Plan provides the world with a new, practical framework for cooperation. In the survey, 87.8% of respondents believe that China's vast market will offer significant opportunities for all countries; 91.2% say that China's continued expansion of high-level opening up demonstrates its resolve and confidence in upholding economic globalization.

It is worth noting that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will place greater emphasis on independent technological innovation, with "artificial intelligence" becoming a frequently mentioned term. In this regard, 94.2% of respondents said that China's positioning of technology has expanded from an isolated industry to encompass multiple fields such as manufacturing and digital transformation. Meanwhile, 94.1% of respondents believe that strengthening high-level technological self-reliance is no longer a stopgap measure for China to cope with international competition, but a long-term strategic choice to promote healthy economic development.

From the successful conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan to a solid start of the 15th Five-Year Plan, China has steadily turned its development vision into reality through consistent and stable medium- and long-term planning. According to the survey, 93% of respondents said that China's approach of promoting continuity and long-term development through strategic planning provides a useful reference for the international community. As instability in the international community grows, China's stability and certainty stand as both resilience and confidence. In this context, 89.8% of respondents agree that a healthy, stable and sustainably developing Chinese economy will continue to boost confidence and drive in the struggling global recovery.

The survey was released on CGTN's English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian platforms, with 11,493 netizens voting and expressing their opinions within 24 hours.
